THOMAS WALDEN (Executive Producer)

Selected credits include Executive Producer forthe feature films “Expecting”, “Blueprint” and “My Brother’s Keeper”, the 15 episode Dave Thomas/Rick Moranis series “Bob and Doug” for Shaw/Global TV, and theSupervising Producer on the 13 episode series “Forbidden Science” for HBO/Cinemax.

 

Tom co-founded High Park Entertainment and is developing “Catwalk”  (as both a film and as a musical stageplay opening in NY), “The Hockey Stick”  and  other projects.  He is also the Executive Producer on “Pirate’s Passage”  an animation project with Donald Sutherland and Brad Peyton for CBC based on the similarly named Governor General’s award winning book.​

 

He co-founded Front and Center Productions Inc., which service produced the films “Aurora Borealis”  (Donald Sutherland, Louise Fletcher, Joshua Jackson and Juliette Lewis), “Blessings”  (Mary Tyler Moore), “A Very Married Christmas”  (Joe Mantegna, Jean Smart & Kari Matchett) and “Riding The Bus With My Sister”  (Rosie O’Donnell and Andie MacDowell, directed by Anjelica Huston).

 

Thomas, a Chartered Accountant, has worked as a senior financial consultant with some of the largest entertainment companies in Canada including Alliance Atlantis, Lions Gate, Salter Street Films, Cineplex Odeon and Concert Productions International (CPI) on many landmark film and television productions such as Emmy/Genie/Gemini winners “Joan of Arc”, “Nuremberg”, “Formula 51”,“Sunshine”, “eXistenZ”, “Felicia’s Journey”, “The Outer Limits”, “PSI Factor”, “Cold Squad”, “Due South”, “Gene Roddenberry’s Earth: Final Conflict”, “Peter Benchley’s Amazon”, “Total Recall 2070”, “Beastmaster”, “The Famous Jett Jackson”, “Emily of New Moon”, “Lexx”, “This Hour has 22 Minutes”, “Made In Canada”  and many others.​

 

Thomas is a founding partner with Eric Birnberg in Behind the Scenes Services Inc. which provides financial and business administration services for Canadian content projects, international treaty co-productions, and foreign service productions.   Of the 200+ projects to date, selected ones include the feature films “One Week”,  “I Declare War”, “Textuality”, “Repatriate”, “The Limb Salesman”, the Bollywood feature “Thank You”  and TV’s “Sanctuary”  (Syfy, Tele Munchen, ITV4) “King” (Shaw/Showcase, Beta Film, France’s M6, VOX in Germany), “Martin Short Second City Special”, “Superbodies”  (2010 & 2012 Olympics), “Risky Business” , Scare Tactics” , “Bump”, “Committed” (Lifetime/TMN) and dozens of others.​

 

He and Eric are also founding partners in BITE TV, a Canadian broadcaster that won an International Emmy in 2007 for “Best Interactive Channel”.​
