NEVILLE MISATI "Michael Odhiambo"

Neville Misati is a Kenyan Theatre, Film, and Television actor and producer. He has performed for renowned theatre production companies in Kenya like, The Theatre Company of Kenya for their show, Wanawake Wa Heri Wa Winsa which toured in London, India, Tanzania and Kenya. He has also done 3 stage shows for Phoenix Players in Nairobi. Neville has worked on films such as, The Next Filmmaker (as Davy) for Zamaradi Productions, Gone Baby Gone (as Andrew) for Africa Magic Entertainment and Blind Fame (as Dj Marto) for Historia Films. He played the lead role for another film, NIGHTRUNNERS (as Michael) produced by Plus8 Pictures, a Canadian production company that was shot in Rusinga Island. He also tested his creativity at writing and directing a one minute short film, Naked Truth which earned him first place in Kenya and Third place in Africa at the Shuga Talks Film Competition. Other short films include TEAPOT (as Jeffrey) for SEVEN PRODUCTIONS, I CAN’T THINK STRAIGHT (as Ogolla) a school project for the GENEVA SCHOOL OF MEDIA AND ARTS and a web training video titled, MISSION READY (as David Kone) by USAID/UKAID + REDR UK.

 

Neville has featured in Television series’ like Shuga 2: Love, Sex & Money (as Winston) by MTV Networks, Higher Learning sn3 and sn4 (as John Waithaka) by Spielworks Media, MALI (as Mr.Tobiko) by Alison Productions, Jane & Abel (as Patrick) by Spielworks Media, New Beginnings (as Sean) by Insignia Productions, How To Find A Husband (as Nelson) by StoryLab Limited and WILD CLASS (Main Presenter) by Jacaranda Designs for the Laikipia Wildlife Conservancy.

 

He has done television advertisements for companies such as Pwani Oil Industries, Mumias Sugar, Coca Cola, Safaricom, Kenya Power and NIC Bank shot in Bangkok, Thailand. Neville pursued a Diploma in Mass Communication from Multimedia University of Kenya and has received professional performance training in form of various training programs and workshops from Keith Pearson and Nathalie Vairac through The Theatre Company of Kenya, Laura Newman (Director, WE ARE THE HARTMANS), Esther Mugambi (Holland), Beth McGuire from Yale University, Vibeke Muasya and Nini Wacera of Acting for Cinema School in Nairobi.

 

Neville is the Founder and Creative Director of NEMISA ENTERTAINMENT, an Arts, Media and Entertainment company specializing in producing Theatre, Film, Television and Community Development Projects tailored by and for the youth. He has done voice overs for the Shuga Radio Drama produced by Homeboyz Entertainment for MTV Networks, Biblia Husema Radio show for Transworld Radio, AMREF E-Health Project 2015 and was the official voice artist for Multimedia University of Kenya when he studied there.

 

The projects he has been involved in have received nominations and recognition both locally and internationally such as Best Production + Best Kiswahili Production nominations at The Sanaa Theatre Awards 2013 for “WANAWAKE WA HERI WA WINSA”. Official Feature Film Selection at the Zanzibar International Film Festival 2015. The Winner, Best Feature Film, Los Angeles Thriller Film Festival 2015 and a Best Feature Film Nomination, Kalasha International Film and Television Awards 2015 for the film “NIGHTRUNNERS”. Best Television Series Nomination, Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards 2016 for two television shows “HOW TO FIND A HUSBAND” and “JANE & ABEL”.
