MICHAEL LEBLANC (Cinematographer)
Michael LeBlanc is a cinematographer and director based in Toronto, Canada. He grew up in the music, film and theatre communities of Moncton and Halifax and has a BA from Dalhousie University. In 2008, Michael formed the production company LEBLANC & CUDMORE with director Scott Cudmore. Together they have created countless music videos for artists such as Fucked Up, Timber Timbre, The Hidden Cameras, Great Lake Swimmers, Bahamas and Sarah Slean. With over 10 years experience in the film industry, Michael also lent his keen eye to award winning video director Jaron Albertin for OUR HELL by Emily Hanes and SEXY RESULTS by Death From Above 1979 and documentary filmmaking, working with Bruce Macdonald on his 2011 film YONGE STREET and Sam Dunn on the hugely anticipated “Lost Episode” of the Metal Evolution TV series.
Recently Michael shot Canada’s first Yiddish feature film, THE PIN, which screened at Cannes in 2013 as part of Perspectives Canada. He is currently in production on his 5th feature film, NO STRANGER THAN LOVE with director Nicholas Wernham, starring Alison Brie and Colin Hanks.
